March Message From the President

Dear Chamber Members,

I am delighted to report that our premier legislative and economic forecasting event of the year, Outlook 2023, was a great success! With over 700 attendees, including our distinguished presenters and members of the business community, I’m moved by the outpouring of support to elevate the economic prosperity of the Greater Springfield region.

The lineup of speakers at Outlook 2023 was impressive. We heard from Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Doug Howgate from the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, and Congressman Richard Neal. The event was an excellent opportunity for attendees to hear from and engage with some of the most influential policymakers in our region.

In addition to Outlook’s dynamic roster of speakers, we released our 2023 legislative agenda. This agenda outlines our advocacy priorities as we work to strengthen business competitiveness, lower business costs, and build a prosperous future for the Greater Springfield region.

The 2023 legislative agenda touches upon key issues in budgeting, tax policy, workforce development, healthcare, education, energy, infrastructure, and the environment. Those interested in reading the entire 2023 legislative agenda can do so here.

Overall, Outlook 2023 was a fantastic opportunity for attendees to network with one another, learn about the latest legislative and economic developments, and engage with local and state policymakers. We are grateful for the support of our members and generous sponsors who helped make the event possible, and we look forward to continuing to connect throughout the year.

Our next event will be our Rise and Shine Business Breakfast, highlighting local tourism and hospitality on March 30 at the Basketball Hall of Fame! Mark your calendars and register here to save your seat. I can’t wait to connect with you again soon!

Sincerely,

Diana Szynal
