Heather Gawron Named Senior Director of Development for New England Public Media

Springfield, MA (February 3, 2021) New England Public Media has tapped Heather Gawron to lead its fundraising division. As Senior Director of Development, Gawron will oversee the non-profit media organization’s fundraising efforts, including grants, on-air fundraising campaigns, and its planned and major giving programs, contributing to the organization’s overall budget of $10 million. Heather will also lead NEPM’s targeted fundraising effort for programming and endowment.

“I am very excited to have Heather join our team. She arrives at a very important time for NEPM as we work to expand our journalism, education, music, engagement and multicultural programming, and create new content that will serve a more diverse and a younger audience,” said Martin Miller, President of New England Public Media.

Heather has worked for a decade as a development professional, most recently at American International College, in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she was Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. During her tenure at AIC, Heather was an engine for growth, strengthening and expanding the College’s alumni engagement program on a national scale. Her stewardship work with alumni yielded remarkable growth in engagement of the alumni base and landed one of the largest-ever single donations made to AIC.

Prior to AIC, Heather worked for Alstom University, headquartered in Paris, France, and helped launch five international corporate university campuses across Europe and Asia.
“As I make the transition from higher education to the arts and public media, I am looking forward to impacting our next generation of learners and leaders,” said Heather. “Providing an opportunity for growth through giving and engagement is more important now than ever.”
