SPRINGFIELD, Mass – September 22, 2021 – The Springfield Regional Chamber (SRC) will host an informative webinar to help employers prepare for the forthcoming COVID-19 vaccine mandate that was issued by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. in early September. The new mandate will require workers at companies with 100 or more employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing.
The webinar, on October 7 from 10 – 11 a.m., will feature a presentation and question and answer session by Mark Adams, director of compliance for Employers Association of the Northeast (EANE). Adams will address the preparation needed for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rule, how to develop and implement policies, track compliance, and more, including how the mandate might impact businesses of smaller sizes.
Adams currently co-leads EANE’s Human Resource Services team, providing services to member companies and directing programs for affirmative action, background checking, and data surveys. Additionally, Mark guides high level professionals on issues such as drug testing, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) versus independent contractor laws. He is the primary editor and author of EANE’s e-alerts, keeping members updated about pending legal and regulatory developments critical to the workplace.
“We anticipate our employer community will have questions regarding the vaccine mandate, including how to impose the new rules, what they’ll need from their workers to comply and what this may mean for smaller businesses,” said Springfield Regional Chamber President Nancy Creed. “We’re thrilled to offer an educational forum where employers can receive clarity regarding the rule and ultimately have their questions answered.”
Admission to the webinar is $24.95 for Springfield Regional Chamber members and $34.95 for non-members. Participants can register online by visiting the event page here.
