Springfield Jewish Community Center Announces Winter/Spring Adult Class Offerings

SPRINGFIELD, MA (January 2022) – Life Lessons: The William and Margery Sadowsky Center
for Adult Learning at the Springfield Jewish Community Center announces their Winter/Spring
line-up of Adult programs. There’s a wide variety of programming both in-person and virtual for

“From wine tastings at the JCC to trips within the U.S. and abroad, we have offerings that span
the globe – and some that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.” said Bev Nadler,
Director of Adult Life. Between our in-person and online offerings, our goal is to provide
something for everyone to suit all comfort levels.”

Highlights include:
Passover Wine Tasting and Sale
Formal Tasting: Monday, March 14, 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Informal Lobby Tastings: Tuesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 16, 3:30 – 5:30 PM
In-person at the J
Sample 100+ different wines and choose from the area’s best selection of Kosher for Passover
wines. This program is free and open to the public. Order forms will be available at
SpringfieldJCC.org.

New Mexico: Treasures and Traditions
Thursday, March 31 – Wednesday, April 6 | In-person travel program
Enjoy seven days in New Mexico and view the world in a different light. Trip includes stops in
Sante Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas, NM.

The Legacy of Slavery
Tuesdays, February 15 – March 15, 4:30 – 6:00 PM | In-person at the J
Explore both the national and local legacies of slavery, including school segregation, housing
segregation, and employment discrinimation with Instructor Tim Oppenheimer.

Learn to Play Ukulele
Thursdays, February 17 – March 24, 2:00 – 3:00 PM | In-person at the J
In collaboration with the Community Music School’s Creative Aging Program.
Learn how to play melodies, chords, and even whole songs as you develop the necessary skills
to master this accessible and charming instrument.
