Rocky’s Ace Hardware hosting Stars & Stripes BBQ Party and American flag giveaway
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Rocky’s Ace Hardware, one of the country’s largest family-owned Ace Hardware dealers with 47 locations in nine states, will host their annual Stars & Stripes BBQ Party on Saturday, May 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at eight western Massachusetts stores and one Connecticut store. They will also participate in The One Million Flag Giveaway on the same day, which aims to honor veterans by giving American flags to customers and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts nationwide. Customers can receive a free flag, while supplies last, at the Island Pond Road and Liberty Street stores in Springfield; the Agawam, East Longmeadow, Westfield, Ludlow, Palmer and South Hadley stores in Massachusetts; and the Vernon, Connecticut location.
“Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, but it is also an important day to honor the veterans who lost their lives protecting our freedoms,” said Rocky’s Ace Hardware President Rocco Falcone. “So, while we enjoy celebrating the start of grilling season, we want to pay tribute to our heroes by giving away American flags that our customers can display on Memorial Day and throughout the year. Ace is also donating flags to local VFW posts, so they can be distributed to veterans.”
Customers can stop by anytime on Saturday, May 28 to pick up a flag, while supplies last. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., visitors can also enjoy a barbeque party, complete with grilling demonstrations and fun for the whole family.
