Monte’s March: Making Moves Event
WRSI – 93.9 The River’s Monte Belmonte will be leading his annual march against hunger through the Pioneer Valley during his Monte’s March event. Joined by Congressman Jim McGovern and a number of supporters, Monte will push a shopping cart 43 miles from Springfield to Greenfield over the course of two days to raise awareness about food insecurity in our region and funds for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Listeners are encouraged to make monetary donations.
Date: Monday November 21 and Tuesday November 22
On the 21st, the march begins at the MLK Center in Springfield at 7am(come early for the kickoff) and end in Northampton.
On the 22nd, the march begins at the corner of Pleasant St and Hampton Ave near WRSI the River (15 Hampton Ave) at 7am and ends at Hawkes & Reed at about 5pm.
