Mayor Sarno Issues Statement on 1 Year Anniversary of COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic

Springfield, MA – On March 13, 2020, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno declared a state of emergency in the City of Springfield in response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

 

Mayor Sarno states, “It has been a tumultuous and surreal past year as we have dealt to defeat this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.  We have faced the full spectrum of death to resiliency.  We have mourned many a times alone and prayed in the spirit of hope.  For those of you all who continue to be on the front lines, with your dedicated, brave and compassionate efforts, a huge thank you goes out to you all and your families too.  We have shed many a tears, but rest assured, hope springs eternal and we will laugh and smile again.  May God Bless you all.”
