Springfield, MA – Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief Administrative and Financial Officer (CAFO) TJ Plante announced today the appointment of Jessica Guerra to the Board of Assessors. Guerra will serve as the third member of the board and will start Monday, October 18, 2021.

Guerra has served as the Principal Assessor for the Town of Longmeadow since 2019 and previously was the Town’s Assistant Assessor from 2016 to 2019.  Prior to joining the Town of Longmeadow she served as a Property Services Administrator for the Colvest Group.

Mayor Sarno states, “CAFO TJ Plante, Chairman of the Board of Assessors Attorney Patrick Greenhalgh and I are pleased that Ms. Guerra has agreed to join our Springfield Board of Assessors team.  Jessica Guerra brings a good and solid professional background and has extensive experience as a certified municipal assessor serving in that capacity for the Town of Longmeadow for over five years.  We are glad to have her on ‘Team Springfield,’ as we continue to keep our City’s financial position strong.  These positions are highly specified and many a times difficult to fill.  I welcome Ms. Guerra and her young family to Springfield.”

CAFO TJ Plante stated, “I am excited that Ms. Guerra has accepted this position as our newest Assessor.  Her appointment will help round out the board and her experience working as a municipal assessor will help make this a smooth transition.  She will be able to hit the ground running from day one.”

Attorney Patrick Greenhalgh, City Assessor and Chairman of the Board, stated, “Jessica has strong skills and a unique experience in both the municipal and private sector.  I am very pleased to welcome her to our board.”

“I am excited to join the Springfield Board of Assessors and am thrilled for the opportunity as this is a natural progression for my career.  I am actively searching to purchase my home in Springfield and I look forward to becoming a resident of this great city in the near future,” said Jessica Guerra.
