Freedom Credit Union announces new Business Development Officer for its Cannabis Business Program
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freedom Credit Union has announced it recently welcomed Susan Crum, a resident of Westfield, as the Business Development Officer for its Cannabis Business Program. With three decades of banking experience, Crum became interested in partnering with cannabis entrepreneurs and spent time over the past year learning about the industry, including compliance, growing, processing and selling.
“Susan brings a unique skillset to her role with us,” said Freedom Credit Union President Glenn Welch. “Her time spent as a community banker, combined with her relationship management experience and cannabis education, have provided her with a holistic understanding of the partnership between credit unions and cannabis businesses to safely manage their day-to-day financial needs.”
“We are thrilled to have Susan join our team,” said VP and Chief Lending Officer Jeffrey Smith. “With our Cannabis Business Program, we are demonstrating our commitment to supporting this relatively new area of business in our region with expert banking services. We know that they have specialized needs; Susan understands these intricacies, which will allow her to be a true partner to our customers in this industry.”
As part of the Business Team, Crum will be based in Freedom’s office at 77 Boylston Street in Springfield. She can be reached at [email protected] or 413-505-5726.
