Boilard Lumber in Indian Orchard merges with Koopman Lumber
INDIAN ORCHARD, Mass. – Boilard Lumber, a family-owned and -operated retail lumber yard providing quality building supplies since 1936, has been acquired by Koopman Lumber, another family-owned and -operated business with 10 locations in eastern Massachusetts. Founded by Peter T. Koopman in 1939, Koopman is now co-owned by its third generation: Dirk Koopman, CEO; his sister, Denise Brookhouse, CFO; and her husband, Tony Brookhouse, COO.
“After 86 years of continuous family ownership, we are happy to have found another business that shares our history and values to continue our legacy in western Massachusetts,” said Mike Boilard, president, Boilard Lumber. “It was important to us to turn the reins over to people who are as committed as we have been to both our customers and employees. Boilard Lumber adopted the Koopman name on June 27. All Boilard employees were welcomed to remain on staff and Robert Boilard, vice president, will remain as general manager.
