BHN Cancels Tuesday’s Vaccine Clinic in Holyoke; Wednesday’s Springfield Clinic Still on to Administer Moderna Vaccine

Holyoke and Springfield – Behavioral Health Network, Inc. (BHN) has cancelled its vaccine clinic that was scheduled to be held today, Tuesday, April 13 at 43 Canal Street. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution and was based on FDA and DPH guidance due to rare side effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was the only vaccine to be distributed at the Holyoke site. BHN is partnering with the Holyoke Senior Center to reschedule appointments for individuals who were impacted today.

BHN’s Springfield vaccine clinic located at 417 Liberty Street will be open on April 14 for previously-scheduled appointments for administration of the Moderna vaccine. BHN will continue to administer the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines when available.

BHN will pause the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine pending guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).

Those who had appointments to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine Tuesday in Holyoke have been contacted.
