bankESB commits $50,000 to Westfield Boys & Girls Club

Easthampton, Massachusetts, March 4, 2022 – Matthew S. Sosik, president and CEO of bankESB, announced that the bank has pledged $50,000 over five years to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield.

The money will be used to help support the organization’s Building Futures campaign, a $3.5 million, 15,000-square-foot expansion of its West Silver Street, Westfield location. According to the organization, the expansion will allow 100 more children in the licensed childcare program, bringing the total to 300, including a new full-day preschool program in a more affordable, safe, education-based environment.

“On behalf of our chief executive officer, Bill Parks, and myself, we thank bankESB for their very generous donation to the Building Futures campaign,” said Bo Sullivan, assistant executive director of the club. “bankESB is a valuable supporter of this construction project, making it possible to expand our licensed childcare program for ages 5 to 13 and now include a new state-of-the-art preschool program for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old.  Our social, emotional, and educational programs are designed specifically to nurture the growth of all youth and bankESB recognizes the essential services of our local Boys & Girls Club.”

The donation was made as part of the bank’s charitable giving program, The Giving Tree, which reflects the roots the bank has in its communities, its commitment to making a real difference in the neighborhoods it serves, and the belief that everyone’s quality of life is enhanced when we work together to solve our communities’ biggest problems.

“Our children are our future, and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield is helping to build that future through supportive and innovative programs for our youth,” said Sosik. “bankESB is pleased to do its part in supporting the club and its efforts to provide high quality spaces for kids to play and learn and unlock their full potential.”
