30th Class of Super 60 Winners Announced

The Springfield Regional Chamber has announced the honorees for its annual Super 60 awards, presented by Health New England and sponsored by People’s United Bank, MassHire Hampden County Workforce Board, Wells Fargo Bank, The Republican, 22News, and Zasco Productions.

Now in its 30th year, the program celebrates the success of the fastest-growing and privately-owned businesses in the region which continue to make significant contributions to the strength of the regional economy.

To be considered, companies must be based in Hampden or Hampshire counties or be a member of the Springfield Regional Chamber, have revenues of at least $1 million in the last fiscal year, be an independent and privately-owned company, and be in business at least three full years.  Companies are selected based on their percentage of revenue growth over a full three-year period or total revenues for the latest fiscal year.

This year’s winners hail from 21 communities across the region and represent all sectors of the economy, including real estate, transportation, sports, dining and entertainment, insurance, energy, health care, technology, manufacturing, retail, and service.

Three First-time Winners Took Top Three Places in Revenue Growth Category

The Nunes Companies, Inc., a first-time Super 60 winner, took first place in the Revenue Growth category, followed by two other Super 60 first-timers: Brewmasters BrewingServices, LLC in second place and Christopher Heights of Northampton in third place.

Whalley Computer topped the Total Revenue list for the third year in a row and is marking its 20th Super 60 win since 1998. Marcotte Ford Sales came in second, followed by Tighe & Bond in third place.

“This year’s winners indicate that our regional economy is strong and reflects the diverse nature of our industries,” said Springfield Regional Chamber President Nancy F. Creed.

Creed noted that 19 companies are first-time Super 60 winners. “Businesses continue to grow, innovate and succeed in our region,” she said. “The Springfield Regional Chamber is proud of its 30-year tradition of recognizing these businesses.”

All Winners Combined Surpassed $720 Million in Revenues

One-quarter of the Total Revenue winners exceeded $30 million in revenues, with all the winners combining for more than $720 million. In the Revenue Growth category, Creed said that all growth winners had growth in excess of 21%, up 8% from 2018, and 50% of the top 30 companies had growth in excess of 50%.

Five companies in the Total Revenue category also qualified for the Revenue Growth category, while seven companies in the Growth category also qualified for the Total Revenue category.
